About me

Lucio Antonio Carbone was born in Milan, Italy in 1959. He became interested in guitar making in his mid-teens and he has made lutherie his profession since 1983. His early production consisted of jazz guitars and instruments inspired by vintage Martin. He built his first classical guitar in 1986. In 1989 he established a workshop in Milan: where he keeps his activity going, matching a brisk trade of new and used guitars.

Recently, he has dedicated himself to the eighteenth century guitars, encouraging recitalists to perform the repertory of the period on original instruments or accurate copies. Now he is constructing classical guitars on special order.

As far as the construction characteristics of the guitars by Lucio Antonio Carbone, they are built with woods that have been seasoned in his workshop a minimum for six years and the soundboard is split. He uses hide glue and the instruments are assembled at a relative humidity of about 40% and finally French polished-
